Hi Bec, wondering if you have written anything about whether retirement villages are a good deal for residents? I am aware of the ABC and Fairfax reporting, but wondering if there is anything else out there about what people should consider before moving into a village.
Hi Peter - yes there's a big section in my book and there's also a pretty big deep dive back early in the newsletter here: https://www.epicretirement.net/p/the-landscape-of-retirement-communities - I'm a decent fan of retirement communities - but you need to understand what type of village is actually right for the stage of life you are at. Lifestyle communities are very different to retirement villages -- both financially and the stage of life of residents. You also need to understand the terms of the contract you go in under.
